SureTrip™
A dipper trip system with 99% activation reliability
FLANDERS SureTrip virtually eliminates one of the biggest causes of unplanned shovel downtime: dipper trip system failure.
SureTrip achieves 99% reliability by using
- A state-of-the-art digital drive;
- An excavator-duty reel assembly that applies trip-cable tension throughout the dig cycle to maintain continuous control;
- Torque optimization to activate the latch bar consistently.
Make and model agnostic, FLANDERS SureTrip is easy to integrate into any electric rope shovel; however, it’s optimized for shovels that use our FREEDOM control system. As an added benefit, the long-life mechanical design also eliminates the rotor motor found in conventional systems, reducing maintenance downtime.
Even better, the average SureTrip installation takes only one preventative maintenance day.
Transfer switch
For electric shovels with a shared drive for motion and propel motors, our transfer switch contactor quickly transfers the shovel from dig mode to propel mode. The transfer switch fits in original cabinet—or a replacement cabinet of equivalent size—and uses existing wiring.
Our locomotive-style transfer switch design helps FLANDERS transfer switches consistently and lasts two to three years longer than the original technologies they replace.
