FLANDERS TO EXHIBIT AT IMARC 2022

We are excited to participate in the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) 2022 in Sydney. IMARC is where the most influential people in the mining industry come together and deliver ideas and inspiration, and it serves as a meeting ground for the industry. From ground-breaking technology, and world-class content, to a vivid showcase – all the elements that make the mining industry great.

Over three thought-provoking days, the world-class conference program now features six concurrent conferences covering the entire mining value chain, with more than 340 technical talks, panel discussions and strategic keynote presentations taking place throughout the three days.

Delegates can gain strategic insights from c-suite executives on minimising disruptions and building resilience, accelerating mining’s energy transition and the future workforce, whilst technical talks will delve into exploration, discovery and project developments, minerals processing, digital technology, and mining innovation.

We asked our FLANDERS team attending the conference what they were looking forward to most over the two days, and this I what they had to say….

Sam Iacopetta, Operations Manager in Western Australia, said, “The last couple of years have been trying times with COVID-19, and it will be exciting to meet and greet the mining industry again in person and establish relationships beyond online conference calls.”

Duncan Sherriff, Business Development Lead, added he is looking forward to learning about the mining industry’s new technologies and catching up with customers face to face.

Owen Uebel, Sales and Business Development Manager, is attending IMARC for the first time and is looking forward to meeting people in person, listening and learning about the challenges mining companies face and how FLANDERS can help.

Kate Gilbey, Marketing Director, added, “IMARC fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing between METS, miners and vendors. I’m looking forward to being face to face with stakeholders for the first time in over 12 months.”

In2022, IMARC promises to be the biggest one yet and is exploring multiple themes;

Accelerating the Energy Transitionthe threat of climate change has meant that it isn’t a question of “if” companies will make the energy transition but when and how. Climate resilience and decarbonisation strategies are embedded across the mining value chain to achieve net zero targets.

Embracing Digital Technology and Mining Innovation – technology implementation and challenges and opportunities with analytics, AI and automation all remain of high interest to mining companies, especially as the application of such technologies and innovation continues to be strategically aligned with sustainability and shared value priorities.

Investing in Exploration and Project Developments – with several recent land releases, strong commodity prices, and plenty of projects in development and production phases, it’s an opportunity for the sector is positively changing investors’ risk appetite. Exploration expenditure saw a surge in 2021 totalling $3.6 billion, up 28% from the previous years.

Global Opportunitieshosting the most significant number of mining ministers and government officials worldwide. Ministerial addresses from participating countries will highlight their trade and investment opportunities and provide updates on new policies and plans for their mining jurisdiction.

Minimising Disruptions and Building Resilience – the macro implications of COVID-19 and geopolitical tensions have been felt globally with significant disruptions in the supply chain, workforce, and operational costs. As the industry looks to minimise disruptions, there is consensus to implement strategies to build resilience within the sector.

Progressing ESG and Strengthening Social Value – in a world of growing concerns around the environment, climate change and social impact, mining is in the spotlight now more than ever, placing critical focus on requirements for ESG, credibility and trust, a social license to operate and sustainable mining practices.

Redesigning the Mining Workforce and Culture – major labour and skill shortages continue to exist across many areas of the mining value chain, made worse by recent COVID-19 implications and remote working challenges. In addition to the problem of attracting the next generation, due to the negative perceptions of the industry and culture.

IMARC brings together the largest gathering of mining professionals in Australia with decision-makers from across the mining value chain.

“Each year, thousands of decision-makers and mining leaders come to IMARC from around the world to learn, network, and most importantly, to do business, and we are so pleased we can be a part of such a great show this year,” added Gilbey.
