EVANSVILLE, Ind. – FLANDERS is sad to announce that Roy Patterson, FLANDERS Chairman, passed away on December 31, 2015.
“Roy was the driving force behind the growth and development of FLANDERS. Roy leaves behind a legacy and company that only he could have built, and his spirit provides much of the foundation of FLANDERS,” reflects Allen Patterson, grandson of Roy Patterson and COO of FLANDERS.
Roy was a founding member of the FLANDERS family in 1947 when it was only three employees, including himself. His exceptional work ethic, long-term commitment to customer service, unwavering desire to always do the right thing, his guiding principles to love others, and treat them as you would want to be treated and to serve others made him truly one of a kind. He was with the company for 53 years and up until last month was still coming to work 5 days a week, at the age of 89.
Roy’s son, David Patterson, current FLANDERS President, will succeed Roy as the Chairman. Allen Patterson will continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer.
Headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, FLANDERS develops advanced technologies and designs, manufactures, sells and services motors, complete power systems and automation solutions for mining, metals, utilities, alternative energy and other heavy industries.
